Our beekeeping activities are both of the stable, permanent and the nomadic type. This means that we have hives in a permanent location on our farm (stable) as well as other hives which are moved (nomadic) into areas with particularly heavy flowering with the aim of producing single flower varieties of honey. We breed Italica bees in modern hives.
We have always been passionate about our bee colonies, and worked to keep them healthy and strong, ready for a big harvest in the flowering season.
In our area the bees give us Acacia Flower honey in the late spring and then an excellent Millefiori honey during the summer season. If conditions are favorable, it is also possible to collect the special Melata di bosco honey (from a sugary secretion found on the leaves of oaks and other plants in our woods). With our nomadic beekeeping we produce Eucalyptus and Chestnut honeys.
